FaceBook

Recently I joined facebook.com .  I did so because that is where most of my friends and family are.   So far I am not very impressed.  The site does have some neat features.  For instance, the find a friend feature.  But as a whole it seems bulky and clunky.  I may just need some more time to figure it out, but right now I think it is trying to do too much.

So... Cold....

I got a sales call today from a woman in Texas.  She said taht it was pretty cold there.  The wind chill made it feel like 17 degrees.  I kind of laughed and told her that the wind chill in Bismarck, ND was -40 degrees.  She was shocked.  She didn't talk long she must have thought that I was freezing to death.

My dive into the forex market

I am officially a forex trader.  Yes, I have delved into the realm of trading foreign currencies.  It is pretty fun and I enjoy the new challenges and the training I am doing.  One of the great things about  trading is that I do it from home part time.  That means I can continue to run my business and still be at home with my family.

What to invest in.

I have always been a fan of investing in companies that pay good dividends. Even more so now when the market is down. Foe those of you who are young, I would recommend that you invest alot now. Warren Buffet said it best I think. "Now is a great time to buy a piece of America."

Yard Furniture Review

Several weeks ago we purchased a set of Better Homes and Gardens yard furniture from Wal-Mart. It took about two hours to fully assemble every piece but it was worth it. The furniture looks nice and is comfortable. I was actually thinking of putting it in my living room.

This is nice furniture for the dollar. If you are looking to get some new yard furniture I would highly recomend the Better Homes and Gardens furniture from Wal-Mart. There are several styles to choose from including Mika Ridge, Bali Island and Sunbridge.

I hope you find a nice set of furniture that fits your style of outdoor fun!

One Down

I spent most of today installing gutters on my house. My dad was helping and we were able to finish up everything except the downspouts. (I had to order them in.) The house looks great!
Now the next projects are ready to complete. Finishing the base cabinets in our kitchen to look the same as the top cabinets. Building the driveway gate. I hope to get these next two done before winter. I think it will happen.
I hope all your projects are going well and are getting done. Have fun!

Lets go "Glamping"

You want to get out and camp but you really don't want to rough it.  Here is a solution for you.  Go glamping.  What is glamping?  The short anwser is glamorous camping.  You can go to a resort or you can create your own glamorous camp site.

By going to a resort, you will truly have the luxury treatment.  They have tents aready decorated with Persian rugs, antiques and fine furniture.  You can have your meals prepared by a gourmet chef.  Have a relaxing rubdown in the massage tent.  These resorts will cost you though.  One resort on average is $10,000 per week.

If you want to go glamping for a bit cheaper, you can buy your own decor.   A large tent is a must.  I have one that has two rooms.  Decorate it with a couple of small outdoor rugs.  Some nice yard furniture.  A plasitc plant or two.  You could even get a small outdoor chandelier to hang in your tent. Of course you would have to have a camp site with electricity or bring your own generator.  Some of your campsite neighbors might think it is a bit strange but who cares.  This is your vacation!  Have fun glamping!

Olympics Today

The zoo trip for today was canceled because of rain. It was a nice relaxing day though. Rain seems to be pretty relaxing.
Since we were inside most of the day, we watched some of the Olympics. I don't have much to say about the Olympics except they don't have football. They do have soccer though. I wish that it was not broadcast at 4:00 am. Perhaps a replay during the day would be good.
I took my wife out to eat at Minervas tonight. The food and company was wonderful. My Mother in lasw watched our three boys for us. Everyone had a great evening.
I hope your weekend is realxing. Enjoy!

The Long Week

I know that every week is only 7 days. This one seems pretty drawn out though. My wife and I have both been busy with our businesses and other part time jobs. This is the feast part of owning your own business. I will have about 60 hours in after Friday. I am really looking forward to our zoo trip on Saturday. The new big cat exibit is opening and by the looks of it it will be pretty cool.   Just one more day to go.

A Word About Spongebob

I never liked SpongeBob. That is until I started watching it with my son. SpongeBob is always so happy to be doing anything he is doing. I think that is a good lesson for us. God commands us to do everything with joy. Since everything we do is for or at least should be for His Glory.
It is funny how our King uses things like SpongeBob to point us to Him. Oh, I do like SpongeBob now.

My Second Son

Today I found out why my second son stands in one of the flower gardens in our yard. I have been telling him to stay out of the flower garden all summer long. Now I know why he is going in there. We have a several gooseberry bushes in the garden and he has been going in and eating the berries. They are not even ripe. Yet, he eats them buy the hand full.

I like gooseberries, but I like them ripe and in a pie. They usally need a bit of sugar to make them taste right too. I guess my son dosen't care. He just wants to get them before the birds do.

Something About Music

My mood today was not good. I think that the humidity and alergies played a big part in that. I thought I would just look for a song to download. I found a album by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss called Raising Sand. They have a very soothing sound. Needless to say I downloaded a song from the album called "Killing the Blues".

Music really does calm the savage beast.

Hot Summer Day

Today has been pretty hot. Actually this week has been hot. Actually I was inside the last two days. I do some part time work at the local men's clothing store so I was in air conditioned comfort. Now you may be thinking, "I thought he owned his own business?". I do, but sometimes business is slow. Its like I said in my previous post. "Do something about your finacial state". I don't remember if that is a direct quote or not but I hope you get the picture.

In case you were wondering. I do think that my business will continue to grow and do well.

Listen Up Americans!!!

I am going to say this nicely. My fellow Americans, we must wake up and stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Stop thinking negatively. Think positive and innovate. You say you can't make ends meet? Think of something to do instead of thinking how bad off you are or how bad off someone else is.

I am not going to tell you it is easy. It might be hard work and some long hours. What do you think built America? I think that we owe it to our families, friends and ourselves.

So lets get out there and do it. Lets set our minds to the task. I know we can. We are Americans.

Bad Times?

I have a hard time believing that this is such a "bad" economy. We are paying our bills and debts, buying gas for my SUV, and planning on purchasing a motor home in the next 6 to 12 months. How do we do this? Don't spend more than you have! Easy. I will write more in a future post. Stay positive.
